Virtual Music Lessons

Fall 2021 Update

We are not currently enrolling new students for virtual music lessons for the 2021-2022 school year, so that we can resume our focus on in-person events and activities.

However, we will work to connect students who would like to learn or continue learning an instrument to volunteer teachers or established programs. Please don't hesitate to reach out to Riley or Maddie at heartbeatsaz@gmail.com for help.

Rosie's House is our favorite music program that provides free music lessons for youth in Phoenix:

Rosie's House:

Started by a German immigrant named Rosie Schurz who sought to create a safe haven for youth to express their creativity, Rosie's House has been providing free, high-quality music education for more than 25 years!

HeartBEATS offered free, virtual music lessons to K-12 refugee students in the Phoenix area for the 2020-2021 school year during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students were paired up with local high school students who taught lessons via Zoom. These lessons were offered to help students progress and succeed in their music classes or to just learn an instrument for fun. The lessons also helped connect them with fellow student musicians in the Phoenix community. These once-a-week, 30 minute lessons were a great way to not only grow as a musician, but also to share the joy of music and foster lasting friendships.
