10/19/19- HeartBEATS Partnership

Today I went to the Welcome To America Project and helped out with the sorting in their warehouse. We organized miscellaneous sheets into sets, folded clothes, packed items like kitchenware and furniture for refugee families, and sorted new donations into their respective place. I also dropped off a basket with five music kits that will now have a permanent place in the warehouse! If I can't make it to a delivery on a Saturday, whoever is volunteering will be able to take a bag and bring it along with the other items. This way, HeartBEATS is able to expand our volunteers and make connections, regardless of whether or not I am there. For example, I sent a music kit along with the deliveries this afternoon, and they gave it to a family with young children from Afghanistan.
