5/11/20-Dancing through Troubled Times

Updated: Jul 31, 2020

This week I am sharing two tweets with you all!

The first one is from the IRC. After a long week of working in a Kenyan Refugee Camp to prepare for the possibility of COVID-19, staff gathered to dance as part of checking in with their mental health and self-care. The sweet video attached goes to show how much joy engaging in music can bring during these often stressful times. Even if it is just playing your favorite song, the happiness that music brings can do wonders! Link: https://twitter.com/RESCUEorg/status/1255515088645226497?s=20

The second tweet comes from the UNHCR, the UN committee for refugees. Through Zoom calls, refugees from across the world are sharing their art as a way of staying connected and engaging in conversation about their experiences. If you have a video you want to share of the art you have made in quarantine, share it with HeartBEATS! We would love to feature it.
